Prince Gharios of Ghassan Al-Nu'Man VIII

His Imperial and Royal Highness Prince Gharios of Ghassan, Al'Numan VIII (in Arabic Al-Nu’man Gharios Ibn Jafna Al-Ghassani Emir Al-Ghassassinah) was born Ahnume Guerios (the Portuguese transliteration of “Al'Numan Gharios”) in exile in Curitiba, Brazil, in Saint Michael Archangel's Day (September 29th), descending from saints, emperors, kings, nobles and heroes.

H.I.R.H. is the legitimate descendant and heir of the Ghassanid Kings, the Byzantine Emperors of the Phocid Dynasty, and the Sheikhs Chemor but also from the illustrious Families from Italy and from the United Kingdom.

H.I.R.H. studied “Marketing and Propaganda” at the IBEPEX College in Brazil and holds a Strictu Sensu Doctorate in Nobility Law, a PhD in Religious Philosophy (specialized in Christian Philosophy and Tibetan Buddhist Philosophy), and also many Honoris Causa Doctorates, and works in the Entertainment business as actor, director, producer, musician, writer, etc. and currently lives in exile between his two residences in Los Angeles - CA - USA and in Curitiba, Brazil.

In 2011 wrote the only specific book available in English about Dynastic and Nobility Law, “THE END OF A MYTH”. The legal work was vouched for several jurists writing the forewords: an American judge, a former Ambassador and lawyer, a Dutch Master in Roman law and a lawyer and hedge fund manager from Hong Kong.

Prince Gharios' rights and titles were recognized by the International Arbitration Award number 0413/2011 that, according to the Brazilian Federal Law number 9307/96 has the very same legal force as a Federal Court Verdict and according to the "1958 NY Convention on Arbitration" is a legal binding court decision in 148 nations in the world. Even being already "res judicata" (matter already judged not subject to appeal) by Brazilian Law, the International Award was recognized and enforced by the Los Angeles Superior Court on February 24th 2012. On December 18th 2012, the Brazilian Government, through the Parana State Senate, honorifically recognized Prince Gharios and the Royal House of Ghassan for their cultural and philanthropic importance.

Received in 2012 the highest honor of the State of Kentucky in the United States, the title of "Kentucky Colonel" the address of "Honorable". Also received several other honors all over the world, for example: the United States' "President's Call to Service Award 2010" for volunteer services, the medal of the United Nations Brazilian Peace Corps, the medal of bravery from the Navy veterans of Brazil, etc. On May 17th 2013, the Municipality of Curitiba (capital of Parana State and Prince Gharios' hometown) recognized the Prince with "vows of congratulations and applause for the outstanding services rendered to the society". Brazil has the largest Arab colony outside the Middle East with over 15 million people between immigrants and descendants.

In 2013, five Brazilian jurists signed affidavits recognizing the legality of the international arbitration award 413/11 and Prince Gharios' rights and titles: a Chief Judge (former President of the Supreme State Court, former acting Governor, Law Professor and current official of the Brazilian Association of Magistrates), two presiding judges and a former State Secretary of Justice (also former mayor and Law Professor).

Also in 2013, wrote the book “Middle East: The secret history and possible solutions”, explaining why the historical legacy of the Christians in the Middle East was overlooked and underestimated and offering peaceful solutions to the current challenges in the region.
